Skin Tag, Mole & Wart Removal in Great Harwood

Plasma Skin Treatment

Plasma skin treatment is a safe and effective method used to remove common skin imperfections such as skin tags, moles and warts.

The treatment works using controlled plasma energy to target the surface of the skin. This creates a process known as sublimation, where the unwanted tissue is gently treated and removed without the need for cutting.

Treatments are typically quick and carried out with minimal discomfort. In many cases the skin concern can be treated within just a few minutes.

Most clients experience very little downtime, and the treated area will gradually heal as the skin renews itself.

As with all treatments at Joanne Helen Aesthetics, suitability is assessed during consultation to ensure the treatment is appropriate and safe for your individual skin concern.

Any moles must be assessed before treatment to ensure they are suitable for removal.

Plasma treatment can be used for:
• Skin tags
• Small benign moles (subject to assessment)
• Warts
• Certain minor skin imperfections such as reducing static lines and wrinkles excess skin above and below the eye.

What Does the Treatment Involve?

Following a consultation to assess the area and confirm that treatment is suitable, the skin is carefully cleansed and a topical local anaesthetic is applied. This is left to take effect for around 15 minutes to ensure the treatment is as comfortable as possible.

A specialist plasma device is then used to deliver small, controlled pulses of energy to the targeted area. The plasma energy creates a process known as sublimation, which gently treats the unwanted tissue without the need for cutting or stitches.

The procedure itself usually takes only a few minutes depending on the area being treated, and most clients find any discomfort to be minimal due to the numbing cream.

Plasma treatment can also be used to improve certain skin concerns such as static lines, wrinkles and mild skin laxity, for example around the upper and lower eye area or other areas where the skin may benefit from tightening.

Results and Healing

For concerns such as skin tags, warts or small benign moles, results are usually visible immediately following treatment.

After the procedure, small dark micro-crusts may form at the treatment site. These are a normal part of the healing process and typically fall away naturally within around five days.

The skin may appear slightly pink or mildly swollen following treatment. This is expected and generally settles within a short period of time as the skin heals.

Initial Aftercare (First 48 Hours)

To support the healing process, please follow the guidance below:

• Avoid touching or picking the treated area.
• Keep the area clean and dry, avoiding creams, perfumes or cosmetics unless advised.
• Avoid strenuous exercise or activities that cause excessive sweating.
• Protect the skin with a high SPF sunscreen and avoid direct sun exposure.
• Avoid extreme heat such as saunas, steam rooms or sunbeds.

Further aftercare guidance will be provided during your appointment.

Treatment is always carried out carefully and conservatively to ensure the surrounding skin remains protected.
