ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS
What Are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
Anti-wrinkle injections are a non-surgical treatment designed to gently relax the muscles that create expression lines, such as frown lines and crow’s feet. When these muscles are softened, the overlying skin appears smoother and fine lines are reduced.
At Joanne Helen Aesthetics, treatments are always tailored to your individual facial structure and delivered conservatively. The aim is to soften lines while maintaining natural movement and expression.

Areas for Anti-wrinkle Treatment
Anti-wrinkle injections in Blackburn designed to refresh your appearance while keeping you looking like you.

A FACE TO FACE CONSULTATION MUST BE BOOKED FOR NEW TO ME CLIENTS. PLEASE ALLOW AT LEAST 3 WORKING DAYS BEFORE YOU REQUIRE THE TREATMENT.
How Do Wrinkles Form?
Wrinkles develop for several reasons. As we age, our skin naturally produces less collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid – the elements that help keep skin firm, smooth and hydrated. As these levels decline, the skin becomes thinner and less able to bounce back.
Repeated facial expressions such as smiling, frowning or squinting also contribute to the formation of lines. Over time these expression lines can begin to remain visible, even when the face is at rest.
Sun exposure, genetics and gradual changes in facial structure can also play a role. As the skin and underlying tissues change, lines around the eyes, forehead and mouth can become more noticeable.
Anti-wrinkle injections work by gently relaxing specific facial muscles responsible for these expression lines. By reducing repeated muscle movement, the skin appears smoother and lines soften.
Results usually begin to appear within a few days and typically last around three to four months.
What Happens During Anti-Wrinkle Treatment?
Anti-wrinkle treatment is a straightforward procedure carried out safely by a fully qualified and insured practitioner.
Consultation
Your journey begins with a thorough face-to-face consultation. We will discuss your concerns, what you would like to achieve and whether treatment is appropriate for you. A medical prescriber will also review your medical history and assess your suitability for treatment.
Preparing the Skin
On the day of your appointment the treatment area will be carefully cleansed. Most clients find the treatment very comfortable, but a small amount of numbing cream can be applied if required.
Treatment
Using a very fine needle, small amounts of product are placed into targeted facial muscles. The treatment itself usually takes just a few minutes. Initial results often begin to appear within 3–5 days, with full results developing over approximately 14 days.
Aftercare and Recovery
There is no downtime following treatment, although a few simple aftercare guidelines should be followed. You can return to most normal activities straight away. Mild redness, swelling or small bruises may occasionally occur but usually settle within a few days.
Review Appointment
A follow-up appointment is arranged to review your results and make any small adjustments if needed.
Results typically last around three to four months, and maintenance treatments can be discussed during your review
